Strategic Projects
“The most effective way to do it, is to do it.” Amelia Earhart, Aviation Pioneer
Every transformative journey starts with a project. But big ideas can stall without the right structure, skills, and shared commitment. Strategic projects are more than tasks—they’re catalysts for change.
I help you navigate uncertainty with clarity and confidence. By blending human insight with proven methods, we make sure your projects don’t just launch—they thrive.
How we work together:
Explore the complexity and purpose behind your project to ensure a clear business case
Bring stakeholders together to co-create solutions
Design an approach that fits your culture—agile, hybrid, or classic
Build governance that fosters trust, learning, and momentum
You’ll see results in:
Clear portfolio priorities
Business case
Actionable project plans and sprint cycles
Clear implementable governance and project planning.
Feedback loops that keep energy high
Successful delivery that sticks
Humanitarian Response: Delivering Under Extreme Complexity
Over seven years, I supported humanitarian responses in crises around the world such as the Ebola pandemic, Syrian conflict, Nepal earthquake, and Sulawesi tsunami—helping country teams set strategy, secure funding, and execute plans in volatile environments.
How We Worked
Nepal Earthquake: Led shelter and construction team delivering $13m programme—800 temporary schools, 4,000 masons trained, 1,500 homes supported.
Liberia Ebola: Directed rapid design and build of an 80-bed treatment unit in six weeks, plus innovative community care centres.
Bangladesh Rohingya Response: Deputy Team Lead during $80m scale-up, strategy implementation, and donor engagement.
What It Shows Strategic projects thrive when designed for real-world complexity. Success depends on clarity of purpose, adaptive planning, and mobilising diverse expertise quickly.
Construction Project Management: Raising the Bar for Safe Construction
As Head of Shelter and Construction at Save the Children, I was responsible for construction quality on a global portfolio exceeding £30 million a year. That’s equivalent to 3,000 classrooms across high-risk environments. This demanded robust standards and practical solutions for vulnerable communities worldwide.
How I Worked
Led technical quality assurance for major projects, closely partnering with country teams to manage risks and strengthen results.
Provided hands-on guidance, building local capacity and ensuring safe project delivery.
Developed and expanded Construction Management Training from pilots in Nepal and Ethiopia to a global programme.
Authored Construction Standards and set new sector-wide benchmarks through adoption by DFID/FCDO and the Global Shelter Cluster, .
What It Shows: This work demonstrates the importance of disciplined project execution, partnerships, and knowledge transfer to achieve safer outcomes for children and communities in adversity.
